Valérie Lessard is a contemporary dance performer, videographer, teacher and cultural worker. She began her professional dance training at the École de Danse de Québec and pursued studies at the Bachelor's level at UQAM. She also studied cultural organization management at HEC Montreal.
During her studies, she developed a keen interest in dance history. Since 2007, she has been teaching a theory course at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal covering the historic and aesthetic evolution of Western dance in the 20th century.
Valérie co-directed a documentary about dancer and historian Vincent Warren. She also carries out research and video-dance creation.
