In an effort to foster excellence in new talent, this grant assists the most promising young performing artists enrolled in post-secondary educational or training institutions in 2019-2020.
Candidates for the grants must be nominated by their educational institution. Seven grants of $10,000 are awarded annually, one in each of the following performing arts disciplines: Classical music (orchestral instrument); Classical music (piano); Classical vocal performance; Contemporary dance; Jazz performance; Acting (English theatre); Acting (French theatre).
“For me, the most important thing is to be able to help people rediscover and re-centre themselves through dance, because dance truly brought me to life. Dancing is a great discipline, allowing us to learn more about ourselves, and often accessing parts of ourselves that we thought were lost. We are at our most vulnerable when we pour all that we are into the thing we are most passionate about.” - Marie-Maxime Ross
The EDCM warmly congratulates Marie-Maxime for receiving this grant.
